Currently before Ordinances and Rules Committee for zoning changes to allow for mixed-use and residential at three parcels: Winter St (Bay Colony and Waltham Woods, adjacent to Ward 3), Jones Rd (near the future MBTA multi-modal transportation center on Green St), and 1265 Main St (Market Basket Plaza).
Residential and retail is planned at all three parcels, but designs are preliminary.
The zoning change to mixed-use (residential, retail, commercial) is before the council and any construction will still have to go through the special permit process for development
A neighborhood meeting with the developers is being held Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at 5:30pm at 1000 Winter St.

Petitioners have received all ZBA approvals and are requesting an air-rights easement from the city. A section of the building will extend over the city's Embassy parking lot by cantilever and will be approximately 17 feet above ground level.
Plans were changed to allow for large delivery trucks to use a loading zone on Moody St. This was approved by the traffic commission and will relieve traffic on Pine St.
Plans call for 29 parking spaces on-site and petitioners are writing a parking plan to present to the committee.
